Upon completing the necessary coursework, the Lord moved with Pastor McNorton being hired by the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (SDA), under the leadership of Dr. Carlton P. Byrd. He was then assigned to serve a three church district in Northeast Louisiana, the former Macedonia SDA Church in Monroe, LA, the former First SDA Church in Tallulah, LA, and the current Winnsboro SDA Church in Winnsboro, LA.
During his 3 ½ years of service in this district, Pastor McNorton was able to lead the churches in dynamic and creative community service programs, stronger financial positions by relieving outstanding debt, and to plant a new congregation, the Northeast Seventh-day Adventist Church in Monroe, LA (comprised of the base memberships of the aforementioned Macedonia (Monroe) and First (Tallulah) SDA Churches.
In the early summer of 2025, the Executive Committee of the Southwest Region Conference voted Pastor McNorton to serve in his current role as the Youth & Young Adult Ministries Director for the Conference, along with serving as the Youth & Young Adult Pastor at “The Dallas Project” SDA Church in Dallas, TX.
