Pr. James Cox
personal info
One of his favorite texts is: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and His seed is blessed”. Psalm 37:25-26 KJV; his favorite saying is ‘You yet holding on?’
As a preacher of the Gospel, Pastor Cox has pastored forty-nine (49) years within the Southwest Region Conference, his ministry spanning across Texas, which includes Amarillo, Lubbock, Texarkana, Houston, Fort Worth, and Dallas.
Just as God gave the Apostle Paul the gifts, strength, and power for establishing and growing churches, monuments remain today as evidence that God has given the same gifts to Pastor Cox. His personal pastoral presence, his strategic emphasis on developing strong leadership teams, visitation, Bible studies, and functional church facilities, has produced a harvest of souls and increased church growth with each pastoral assignment, including a focus on member retention.
Pastor Cox is the first Adventist pastor to be nominated as Pastor of the Year in the Fort Worth metroplex. He is also the only Adventist ordained pastor of record, who is a fully accredited bishop with ecumenical privileges in Fort Worth, Texas. These recognitions have contributed to Pastor Cox’s widespread influence throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and the Conference.
Pastor Cox is now committed to a broader vision cast by the Southwest Region Conference leadership to create a ‘new’ mission-focused church in Dallas, Texas, “The Dallas Project Church,” with a consolidated base membership comprised of Dallas City Temple, Faith Temple, and the Agape Fellowship churches.
